The war cry of this clan is 'Gael us Dearg a Suas' - 'Up with the White and Red, and is certainly appropriate. It is a simple, but effective, tartan. The style of the dress of the figure represented here is that often worn at the end of the eighteenth century by the chief or chieftain of a clan on important occasions. The plaid of the kilt is arranged in imitation of the old belted-plaid. The coat is of a dark reddish-brown colour known as ruadh.
