Armoury

The Clann has collected a vast amount of period weaponry over the years, many of which are used in our fight displays.

An illustrated inventory of Clann weaponry will be posted here in due course, in the mean time here are a few of the items available from our armoury. Some weapons have been faithfully reproduced from what is known about period blades but these cannot be used in any of our fight displays as these blades are designed for stabbing and slashing flesh.

Most of our blades are for combat, through real enough for most purposes the edges are dulled and the blades tempered and reinforced in such a way as to minimise the risk of injury due to a blade shattering under impact, this results in a blade somewhat heavier than the original. All Clann blades are regularly inspected for minute hair line fractures that develop as a result of fatigue, this if left, could result in a blade breaking and injuring a Clansman or a member of the public. As a precaution all blades are tested by a time served and qualified metallurgist to ensure the highest quality before being certified fit for use by The Clann.
